The Echo Bender features a PT2399 echo IC, which can be found in many karaoke machines and toys with an echo effect.

The datasheet for the PT2399 contains a couple of useful designs for delay/echo circuits. The Echo Bender is from a schematic on Makezine. This design really pushes the IC, creating interesting distortion effects.
